Bashir El-Rufai Warns That Arresting His Father Would Be a Huge Error

Bashir El-Rufai, the son of Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, has cautioned the federal government that arresting his father would be a grave mistake, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.

He made this statement on the social media platform X, where he also referred to President Bola Tinubu as “Pablo Escobar,” sparking controversy.

Amid speculation that the federal government plans to arrest Nasir El-Rufai through the office of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, a warning has been issued.

El-Rufai, a former governor and once a close ally of Tinubu, has been at odds with the administration since his ministerial nomination was rejected by the Senate, and his growing criticism of the government has reportedly put him in the spotlight for possible political retaliation.

Bashir El-Rufai issued a warning on X, stating that attempting to harm certain individuals would be a grave mistake, drawing comparisons to Pablo Escobar.

Although he did not mention President Tinubu by name, many interpreted the statement as a direct attack on the president due to his past involvement in a U.S. narcotics case, which led to the forfeiture of $460,000 to U.S. authorities.
