Army Commends Aiyedatiwa’s Prompt Response to Security Alert, Seeks Stronger Collaboration With Information Ministry

The Nigerian Army has lauded the Ondo State Government for its swift and decisive response to the recent security alert regarding a suspected terrorist threat in parts of the state, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.

The commendation was given by the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Major Njoka Irabor, during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, in Akure.

Major Irabor praised Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his prompt action in convening an emergency security meeting and placing all security agencies on full alert, describing the move as a clear demonstration of the governor’s commitment to the safety and well-being of the people.

He further expressed appreciation to the state government for its consistent support to the military and other security agencies, recalling the recent donation of utility vehicles and operational equipment to boost their efficiency and response capacity across the state.

According to him, the strong synergy between the Ondo State Government and security formations has been instrumental in sustaining the relative peace enjoyed in the state. He assured that the Nigerian Army would continue to work closely with other agencies to ensure that Ondo remains safe and conducive for residents and investors alike.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, commended the Nigerian Army for its professionalism and dedication to maintaining peace and order. He reaffirmed the ministry’s readiness to strengthen collaboration with the Army and other security outfits, particularly in the areas of public enlightenment and information management.

Ajanaku also emphasized the importance of community vigilance, urging residents to promptly report suspicious movements or unlawful activities within their localities. He noted that timely intelligence from the public is essential for proactive security interventions and effective crime prevention.

The commissioner reiterated Governor Aiyedatiwa’s unwavering commitment to building a secure and prosperous Ondo State, stressing that “collaboration, vigilance, and communication remain the pillars of peace and development.”
