The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disassociated itself from the increasing support for Seyi Tinubu as a potential successor to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the 2027 governorship election, stating that the party’s focus is on ensuring good governance and preparing for the 2025 local government elections.
Seye Oladejo, spokesperson for the Lagos APC, dismissed these reports, emphasizing that the party is not focused on the 2027 elections.
“The party has not spoken about the 2027 election,” Oladejo stated. “This is the time for impactful governance, not needless politicking to heat the polity.”
Oladejo alleged that opposition groups were behind the endorsements, aiming to cause division within the party and divert attention from its development agenda, and he called on citizens to support Governor Sanwo-Olu and President Tinubu to drive Lagos’ progress forward.
