Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is set to swear in the newly elected local government chairmen and their vice chairmen Today, February 17, 2025, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place at the International Centre for Culture and Events in Akure, following the local government election held on January 18, 2025, where the All Progressives Congress won all chairmanship seats across the state’s 18 local government areas.
According to a government statement, Aiyedatiwa will administer the oath of office to the elected officials, while urging them to focus on grassroots development and uphold good governance.
The event is anticipated to draw in political stakeholders and local residents eager to attend the official swearing-in of the new council leaders.
The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission had presented certificates of return to the 18 chairmen and their vice chairmen on January 20, and to the 203 councillors-elect on January 22, following the APC’s sweep of all 18 chairmanship and 203 councillorship seats in the election.
