The private aircraft involved in the recent emergency landing on a road in the Ogwashi-Uku area near Asaba, Delta State, has been linked to Dunamis International Gospel Centre, according to findings by SavannahNewnow.
Sources familiar with the matter disclosed that investigations by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) revealed that the aircraft is registered in the United States under the name of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, the church led by Pastor Paul Enenche.
The aircraft was reportedly brought into Nigeria under a Permit for Non-Commercial Flight (PNCF), which restricts its use to private operations and prohibits commercial charter services.
However, aviation authorities are said to be investigating allegations that the aircraft may have been operated in violation of the conditions attached to the permit.
The development follows Wednesday’s incident in which the aircraft made an emergency landing on a roadway near Asaba, sparking concerns among aviation regulators and the public.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has reportedly taken the pilot into custody as part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Sources further revealed that authorities are examining issues relating to the pilot’s age, operational compliance, and adherence to aviation regulations.
The NCAA had earlier grounded the aircraft and suspended the operator’s permit pending the outcome of its investigation. Aviation authorities say further actions will be determined based on the findings of the probe.
