A three-storey building plaza located along popular Lagos street at Garki district of Abuja collapsed at night with yet to be identified number of people trapped.
Those residing the area disclosed that the incident occurred early Thursday morning, close to FCT Police command and Emir of Garki palace during heavy downpour late Wednesday night.
As of the time of filling this report, rescue operation team has already on ground evacuating those trapped in the ugly incident.
Director General of FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Dr Abbas Idriss, Confirmed to Savannah Newsnow that 37 persons have been rescued at the scene of the collapsed structure.
The director added that the victims have been evacuated to various medical facilities in Abuja.
Dr. Idriss couldn’t confirm how many victims that are still trapped at the moment speaking to us.
