Human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja following a ruling by the Federal High Court, SavannahNewnow understands.
Justice Mohammed Umar ordered Sowore’s remand on Monday after rejecting an application seeking his recusal from the case.
The decision comes days after the court revoked Sowore’s bail, citing reasons yet to be fully disclosed in open court.
The judge directed that Sowore remain in custody at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending further proceedings in the matter.
The case was subsequently adjourned until Wednesday for continuation.
