BREAKING: Oyo Govt Demolishes Building Used as Kidnapper Hideout in Adelabu Family Abduction

The Oyo State Government has demolished a building identified as the hideout used by kidnappers who abducted the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu and her twin sons in Ibadan, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.

The demolition followed a successful security operation that led to the rescue of Mrs. Olaide John-Paul and her children, who were kidnapped on June 3 while on their way to school in the Challenge area of Ibadan.

Security operatives later traced the gang to a hideout located in the Lado community area of Ayegun, where the victims were held captive.

Government officials said the decision to pull down the structure was aimed at sending a strong message to criminal elements that Oyo State would not tolerate the use of residential or commercial properties for criminal activities.

The authorities also stressed that any property linked to kidnapping, banditry, or other violent crimes would face similar action in line with the state’s commitment to strengthening security.

The hideout was uncovered during a coordinated operation involving operatives of the Force Intelligence Department Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT), the Oyo State Police Command and other tactical units.

The operation resulted in the rescue of the victims, the killing of two suspected kidnappers during a gun battle and the arrest of four suspects believed to be members of a wider kidnapping syndicate operating within and around Oyo State.
