The Inspector-General of Police has approved a fresh round of postings involving several Commissioners of Police across commands nationwide, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
The directive was conveyed through an internal wireless message marked “Most/Immediate,” issued from the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The message instructed all relevant units and formations to update their records in line with the new deployments, which take immediate effect.
Under the new arrangement, Commissioner of Police Haruna Alaba Yahaya has been posted to head JGS, while Betty Enekpen Otimenyin has been deployed to the Welfare Department at Force Headquarters, Abuja. Aina Adesola has also been redeployed to Training under the Department of Training and Development.
Among the key changes, Tijani Olaiwola Fatai has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, replacing Moshood Jimoh. Morkwap S. Dongshal has been posted to Taraba State, Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara State, and Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory Command.
Other notable postings include Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola to Oyo State Command, Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta State, Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun State, and Michael Adegoroye Falade to Ekiti State. Yakubu Useni Dankaro (Ag.) has been assigned to Adamawa State Command.
Additionally, Umar Ali Fagge has been deployed to Katsina State, while Mayatu Shaffa Hassan has been posted to Sokoto State Command.
Police authorities stated that all postings take immediate effect, with affected officers expected to assume duty in their new commands without delay.
