The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress has announced the postponement of its planned state, local government, and ward congresses in Adamawa State.
Party sources disclosed that the decision was taken to allow time for Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to complete his reported move from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC.
According to insiders, the postponement is intended to ensure that the governor formally aligns with the ruling party ahead of the congresses, a development that would position him to assume leadership of the APC structure in the state before party officials are elected.
As of press time, neither the APC national leadership nor the Adamawa State Government had issued an official statement confirming the defection or providing a new date for the congresses.
