South West Heralds Magazine has conferred the Diaspora Icon of Conscience Award on Canada-based activist and publisher, Prince Olujimi Adekanle, in recognition of his consistent advocacy for justice and the defence of the people.
The award was announced by the magazine’s planning committee, led by Otunba Adu Oluwatayo Moses, who stated that Adekanle emerged as the recipient due to his unwavering commitment to social justice and principled activism both at home and abroad.
In a letter addressed to Adekanle, the committee described him as “a positive force on the global stage,” noting that his bold and uncompromising pursuit of justice reflects the enduring values of an Ikale man. The letter further highlighted that despite being based in the diaspora, Adekanle has remained actively engaged in issues affecting his community in Nigeria, a dedication that earned him the honour.
South West Heralds Magazine congratulated Prince Adekanle on the recognition and wished him continued success in his endeavours.
The award investiture ceremony is scheduled to hold on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ondo State Property Corporation Centre, Ijapo Estate, Ondo State.
