Tension erupted on Tuesday at the All Progressives Congress stakeholders’ meeting in Akure after suspected armed individuals allegedly invaded the party’s secretariat, triggering panic and confusion.
According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants arrived suddenly, reportedly brandishing weapons, prompting party leaders and members to abandon the venue in a rush for safety. The incident forced the immediate suspension of the meeting.
Insiders within the party described the episode as a grave security lapse, alleging that the intruders bypassed existing safeguards to gain entry into the premises.
