Abba Atiku Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring his intention to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Abba was formally received into the ruling party by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, alongside the APC National Vice Chairman (North East), Mustapha Salihu.
Following his defection, Abba announced a rebranding of his political support group, changing its name from Atiku Haske Organisation to Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation, signalling his full alignment with President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The development has sparked political reactions, given Abba’s family background and his father’s prominent role within the opposition, as the 2027 general elections gradually come into focus
