BREAKING: China Cautions U.S. Against Interference in Nigeria’s Internal Affairs

The Chinese government has warned against any form of external interference in Nigeria’s internal affairs following threats of military action from the United States.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed Beijing’s strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing Nigeria as “a comprehensive strategic partner.”

Ning stated that China “firmly supports the Nigerian government as it leads its people on a development path suited to its national conditions.”

She further stressed that China “strongly opposes any country using religion or human rights as a pretext to meddle in another nation’s domestic affairs or to threaten it with sanctions or force.”

The comments came in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s reported threat of military intervention in Nigeria over alleged persecution of Christians.
