Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has flagged off another round of bulk gratuity payments for retired civil servants in the state. The official ceremony took place on Monday at the Cocoa Conference Centre, Governor’s Office, Akure, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
The payment exercise covers retirees from the 2016 and 2017 batches, marking another phase in the state government’s ongoing effort to clear outstanding gratuities owed to pensioners.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, while speaking at the event, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of retired workers who, he said, had dedicated their productive years to the service of Ondo State.
He emphasized that his government would continue to prioritize the prompt payment of pensions and the systematic settlement of gratuity arrears, noting that the welfare of pensioners remains a key part of his administration’s agenda for inclusive governance.
The event was attended by top government officials, representatives of pensioners’ associations, and jubilant retirees who commended the governor for keeping his promise to address their long-standing entitlements.
