Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has dedicated his Supreme Court victory to God, describing the verdict as a validation of the people’s mandate and a renewed call to service, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
The apex court, on Thursday, affirmed Aiyedatiwa’s victory in the November governorship election, bringing to an end all post-election litigations. The Governor had won across all 18 Local Government Areas of the state, in what his supporters termed the “18–0 Promax” mandate.
In his reaction, Governor Aiyedatiwa through his Commissioner for Information, Idowu Ajanaku expressed gratitude to Almighty God for sustaining him through the legal battle and for granting him the privilege to lead Ondo State. He also acknowledged the fatherly role of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his support and guidance throughout the process.
The Governor lauded the judiciary for upholding democracy and praised his legal team for what he described as their professionalism and resilience. He also appreciated the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including its National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and members of the party across all levels.
“I must thank the good and resilient people of Ondo State for standing firm and believing in our shared vision. This victory belongs to all of us,” he said.
Aiyedatiwa further applauded the contributions of opposition candidates, singling out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer, Chief Alfred Agboola Ajayi, for his display of sportsmanship during and after the election. He called on political stakeholders to close ranks and work with his administration in building a stronger and more prosperous Ondo State.
With the legal tussle now over, the Governor said his administration’s focus would return fully to governance under the OUR EASE Agenda, a development blueprint aimed at transforming key sectors of the state’s economy.
“The coming months will witness accelerated development, purposeful leadership, and transformational projects that will lift Ondo State to new heights of progress and prosperity,” he assured.
