Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna lawmaker, has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension from the National Assembly,
The firmer Senate stressed that her return to the Senate is uncertain due to a pending Court of Appeal case.
He wrote: “If the pending court issues has to be resolved before the Kogi Senator resumes, then the resumption has no date.”
Following Natasha’s notification to the National Assembly leadership of her intention to resume duties due to the expiration of her six-month suspension, he made the statement.
However, Acting Clerk of the National Assembly Dr. Yahaya Danzaria responded by informing her that her suspension would remain in effect until the judiciary made a decision.
Sani’s statement has sparked further speculation, with many Nigerians wondering if the suspension was politically motivated or purely procedural.
