Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo has added Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal to Nigeria’s No-Fly List following an incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, where two ValueJet pilots were earlier suspended by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority for breaching international safety protocols.
Official reports indicate that KWAM1 tried to board a flight to Lagos with a liquid substance, which aviation security prevented him from bringing on board.
In protest, he allegedly stood on the tarmac, blocking the plane from moving. Keyamo denounced the act as utterly unacceptable, comparing it to a hostage situation, and also criticized the pilots for moving the plane without clearance despite the obstruction.
The minister ordered all domestic and international airlines to adhere to the no-fly directive, cautioning that any carrier transporting KWAM1 would risk losing its operating permit. He emphasized that safety and justice demand equal accountability for passengers and crew when aviation regulations are violated.
