Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s development initiatives in the FCT have hindered the opposition’s ability to form coalitions in advance of the 2027 general elections.
Wike made the remarks during the official commissioning of the Maitama-Gishiri Bridge and the Katampe-Jahi-Mabushi link roads in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
“The Coalition is bound to fail and it has failed. Your good works have killed coalition,” the FCT minister said.
Wike added, “Some people will not be happy; many of them were born not to be happy.
“Under Tinubu, contractors now have confidence in the government. Your good works have killed the coalition in Nigeria.”
The comment comes as key opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, attempt to unite against Tinubu’s re-election bid.
