President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to deliver a national address on Thursday, June 12, at 7:00 a.m. as a highlight of the 2025 Democracy Day celebrations.
Abdulhakeem Adeoye, speaking on behalf of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Democracy Day, announced on Wednesday that the President will also address a joint session of the National Assembly at 12 noon on the same day.
“There will be no Democracy Day parade,” the statement clarified.
A public lecture is scheduled to take place at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, replacing the traditional parade, and will commence at 4:00 p.m. with a focus on the theme: “Consolidating on the Gains of Nigeria’s Democracy: Necessity of Enduring Reforms.”
