During a media briefing in Abuja on Monday, Wike expressed his satisfaction in holding powerful individuals accountable, even if it means upsetting them.
Wike denounced the actions of some elite Nigerians who, having witnessed respect for the law in developed countries, refuse to comply with basic legal obligations upon their return home. He stated that the culture of disregarding rules, particularly among influential individuals, is coming to an end.
He stated unequivocally that the era of privileged individuals disregarding rules with impunity is over, emphasizing that this time, there will be consequences.
The minister reaffirmed his dedication to reestablishing order and ensuring that no one, regardless of status, is exempt from the law within the Federal Capital Territory.
