According to three people familiar with the matter, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Nasir El-Rufai of the Social Democratic Party wrapped up months of talks on Tuesday about forming an alliance.
Sources close to the matter, who wished to remain anonymous, have revealed that leaders have agreed to merge under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 election, pending an official announcement. In the previous election, the ADC’s presidential candidate garnered 82,000 votes.
