Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the former governor of Delta State and 2023 vice-presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, has notified his constituents that he will be leaving the party, indicating a possible switch to the All Progressives Congress, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
A video has surfaced online showing Okowa addressing his supporters and assuring them that his decision to switch parties was made with careful consideration and in their best interest.
In the video:“Be assured that we will not go in the wrong direction; we will take the best direction, the best path for our people,” Okowa said, hinting at a new political alignment without explicitly naming the APC.
The development has sparked speculation about a broader political shift in Delta State, particularly after Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s cabinet was seen singing President Bola Tinubu’s ‘on your mandate’ song.
