Police in Ondo have launched an investigation into the discovery of three headless bodies dumped in the Ore river, located in the Odigbo local government area of the state.
DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the police command’s spokesman in the state, confirmed the incident in Ore on Thursday and stated that efforts were underway to identify those responsible for the heinous crime.
Ayanlade added that operatives had been deployed to the community to apprehend the perpetrators.
He stated that the bodies had been removed and taken to the Ore General Hospital morgue.
He confirmed that three bodies were found in a river in Odigbo and immediately reported to the Ore Division.
Community leaders and other interest groups have been invited to identify the corpses, but so far, none of the bodies have been identified.
“It is believed that those bodies were brought there and dumped at that site by unknown assailants but investigations are ongoing to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them to book,” Ayanlade said.
