Supreme Court Nullifies Judgment Recognising Abure As LP National Chair

The supreme court has overturned the appeal court judgment in Abuja that recognised Julius Abure as the Labour Party’s national chairman.

On Friday, a five-member panel of the apex court unanimously ruled that the appellate court did not have jurisdiction to affirm Abure as chairman of the LP, as the case’s substance concerned the party’s leadership.

It held that the issue of leadership was an internal affair of a party over which courts lack jurisdiction.
