They will face retribution in 2027– El-rufai

Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, has spoken out about the release of Bashir Saidu, a longtime ally and former commissioner, after being held in custody for 50 days.

El-Rufai described Saidu’s detention as an ‘abduction and unjustified incarceration’ on X, formerly Twitter, claiming it was politically motivated.

In the tweet;“Bashir has been my friend for over 53 years, a Barewa College classmate, former Commissioner of Local Government, and of Finance, and former Chief of Staff,” he wrote.

El-Rufai accused security operatives and judiciary elements of impeding justice and delaying Saidu’s bail, claiming it was an act of political persecution due to Saidu’s influence in Kaduna North and Central politics, and warned that those responsible would face consequences in the 2027 elections..

“The payback to those behind it will be known on or before the 2027 elections, In sha Allah,” he declared.

He also promised to provide more information about the alleged involvement of certain police officers and judges in the ordeal, and encouraged Nigerians to “stay tuned for some interesting revelations.”
