Gunmen kidnap travellers in Ondo

Seven travellers were kidnapped by bandits along the Benin-Owo-Akure Road at Ifon area of the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.

The victims, who were travelling from Akwa Ibom State to the South West, were abducted last Friday night.

Odunlami confirmed that the police are working to rescue the victims and arrest the perpetrators.

Additionally, a source reported that 10 travellers were abducted along Owo-Ipele Road by gunmen.

She said, “The incident happened on January 31 at about some minutes to 12am in the night. Seven travellers were involved, they were coming from Akwa Ibom State in a commercial bus.

“Our men are already making efforts to rescue the victims from the kidnappers and arrest the perpetrators.”

A source revealed that 10 travellers were abducted by gunmen along the Owo-Ipele Road.

According to the source, the victims were kidnapped on Saturday morning at around 12am, after their vehicles were stopped and they were dragged into the bush to an unknown destination.
