A yet-to-be-confirmed number of soldiers from Myoung Barracks in Yaba, Lagos State, were reportedly killed in a tragic accident on Friday morning when a vehicle, allegedly driven by a drunk driver, crashed into them during their routine physical training.
The tragic incident, which occurred in the early morning hours, has caused widespread distress within the military community.
A soldier who witnessed the aftermath described the scene, saying, “There’s blood everywhere. I was lucky to have been at the back.”
He further explained that the crash took place near the Myoung Barracks Army Sports Camp. Following the incident, one of the occupants fled the scene, while the remaining two were apprehended and severely beaten by onlookers. Their vehicle was also vandalized in the chaos that ensued.
