Nigerian police rescue ex-AIG’s wife, gun down abductors

Police in Nigeria have rescued the wife of former Assistant Inspector General of Police Hakeem Odumosu, who was kidnapped at the entrance of her home in Arepo, Ogun State, last Thursday.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, confirmed the rescue operation in a statement he shared on his official X handle on Thursday morning.

According to Adejobi, the police thwarted the kidnappers during the operation and retrieved the ransom money they had extorted.

Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police, praised the police operatives for their swift and strategic response and commended Lanre Ogunlowo, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, for his effective leadership and coordination in the case.
