The Supreme Court has scheduled February 10, 2025, for the hearing of five separate cases filed by the camps of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
A five-member panel led by Justice Uwani Musa Aba-Aji ordered an adjournment to allow parties to file and serve necessary court documents.
The court consolidated four appeals for ease of hearing, following a request by the Wike camp’s counsel Joseph Daudu.
The consolidated appeals include SC/CV/1174/2024, SC/CV/1175/2024, SC/CV/1176/2024, and SC/CV/1177/2024.
The court also fixed February 10, 2025, for the hearing of SC/CV/1071A/2024, following a request for the withdrawal of a cross-appeal.
The cases stem from a judgment by Justice James Omotosho, who faulted the presentation of the 2024 budget to four members of the State House of Assembly loyal to the governor.
The Court of Appeal in Abuja affirmed Omotosho’s judgment.
