The Nigerian Government has given its official approval for the establishment of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa, Abuja, in a bid to ensure that each state in the country has at least one federal polytechnic, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
The Education Minister, Dr. Tunji Alausa, conveyed the approval in a January 9, 2025 letter to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, which was received by the FCT Minister’s office on January 16, 2025.
Dr. Alausa, in his correspondence, requested that Wike identify suitable locations in Gwarinpa for the polytechnic’s temporary and permanent sites, which will be inspected by a joint team from the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Board for Technical Education prior to final site selection.
The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic aims to enhance technological education, vocational training, and entrepreneurship development, in line with the government’s goal of promoting technical skills and economic empowerment throughout Nigeria.
