During his inauguration on Monday, marking the start of his second, non-consecutive term, Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States, vowed to deport ‘millions and millions of criminal aliens’ back to their countries of origin. SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
Trump’s statement was part of his comprehensive immigration agenda, highlighting his dedication to securing U.S. borders and tackling illegal immigration, a commitment expected to be a central focus of his second term, building on the stringent policies of his first term.
“Today I will sign a series of historic executive orders,” Trump declared, outlining his plans to tackle illegal immigration.
“With these actions, we will begin the complete restoration of America and the revolution of common sense,” he Said.
He claimed that his administration would put an immediate end to illegal entries into the country, stating, “I will declare a national emergency at our southern border.”
“All illegal entry will immediately be halted and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came.”
The president also highlighted the reinstatement of his controversial “Remain in Mexico” policy, which mandates that asylum seekers at the southern border stay in Mexico while awaiting their immigration court hearings in the U.S.
