Nigerian gov to give civil servants N150,000 Christmas bonus

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has authorized a Christmas bonus of N150,000 for all civil servants in the state, with payment due before 1 pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS

The announcement was made by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, in a Facebook post on Thursday night.

Uzor confirmed that the payments would be made before 1 pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. “Every Worker in Ebonyi State service will receive ₦150,000 as a Christmas Bonus before 1 pm on Tuesday… Gov. Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru,” the post stated.

The governor’s recent approval of a ₦75,000 minimum wage for state workers, effective October 27, has been followed by a wage adjustment.

According to the governor’s office, the adjustment was made after a thorough review of the country’s economic realities.

The statement also clarified that workers on grade level 2 would receive the full ₦75,000 minimum wage, while those on grade level 3 and above would receive an additional ₦40,000 increment.
