Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has placed the state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Moses Ekuma, and the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Francis Ori, on suspension, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
This decision was made during the State Executive Council meeting held in Abakaliki, the state capital, on Monday.
According to a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Jude Okpor, on Tuesday, the suspension is due to allegations of gross misconduct and dereliction of duty.
The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development has been suspended indefinitely, while the Commissioner for Health has been suspended for three months.
This move is believed to be linked to the theft of Ministry of Health property by officials and the Housing and Urban Development commissioner’s poor performance, particularly in managing the Amaeze Housing Scheme in the Ishielu Local Government Area.
