Ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo, the Canadian based political activist Olujimi Adekanle popularly known as JAF, on Wednesday stormed Akure for the party’s Finale, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
The Vice president, HE Shettima, Governor Dapo Abiodun, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Comrade Adam Oshiomhole, the Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state, Engineer Ade Adetimehin and other stalwarts of the party across the country on Wednesday also stormed Akure, the capital city of Ondo State to Mobilize support for the party’s candidate, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa ahead of the Saturday’s election
The rally which marked the end of campaign activities for the party was held at the popular Democracy park in Akure.
The event saw Ganduje, backed by governors, formally present the party flag to Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami.
Shettima, addressing the gathered supporters, claimed that past state leaders such as Adekunle Ajasin, Adebayo Adefarati, and Rotimi Akeredolu, if alive, would support the APC over what he termed as ‘reactionary elements.’
He said, “In just a few days, you will have your chance to show the love you have for the governance of Lucky Aiyedatiwa. So I urge you to come out en masse and cast your vote for the APC. Your vote is your voice.
“I would have asked my friend and brother, His Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to go back home and wait for you to deliver the mandate for him. But, we need this moment to celebrate ahead of the election.
“I want to echo the sentiment made earlier by the Senate Majority Leader. If Adekunle Ajasin, Rotimi Akeredolu and Adebayo Adefarati were to be alive, would he have voted for the APC or the reactionary elements?”
Ganduje, while engaging the crowd, declared that the APC governorship candidate was the right man for the job.
He said, “We are here to motivate you, but we found out that you are already motivated. We are also here to present our flag to the standard-bearer of our party for the governorship election of Ondo State.
“I want to urge Ondo people to get ready to vote massively for our candidate, the governor. By voting for him, you are voting for continuity, continuity in terms of progressive governance, provision of infrastructure, and social services to the people of Ondo State.
Olujimi Adekanle who arrived Nigeria from Canada few days ago while addressing newsmen pleaded with the electorates to allow the incumbent governor who have been performing excellently well to continue his good work.
Adekanle who appeared on TVC on Tuesday evening rolled out the Achievements of His Excellency Aiyedatiwa in few months of becoming the Governor.
“Aiyedatiwa achievements in 10 months as a governor should earn him re-election. The people of the state have seen that governor Aiyedatiwa is a performance and has delivered the dividend of democracy within few moths he took over.
”There’s no sector of the state economy that the governor has not touched.
“Look, we’ll not leave here today if I begin to tell you one after the other what the governor have done in the State”,he said.
