Tragedy befell Okemesi-Ekiti in the Ekiti West local government area of Ekiti state on Sunday as four young men, including two locals and two from Lagos, drowned in the Osun River along Ajido, Ikoro road, while swimming after attending an event, SAVANNAH NEWSNOW REPORTS.
The identities of the victims are currently unknown.
The incident was confirmed by DSP Sunday Abutu of the Ekiti state Police Command, who reported that a 23-year-old and a 25-year-old from Okemesi-Ekiti, along with their two friends from Lagos, drowned during a swim in River Osun Ajindo/Id road after a burial ceremony in Okemesi-Ekiti.
“The four young men unfortunately got drowned. Their bodies have been recovered and deposited in the morgue, while investigation is underway.”
