Justice Haleemah Salman of the Kwara State High Court has sentenced five of the suspects involved in the Offa robbery for guilty of illegal possession of firearms, robbery and culpable homicide.
Justice Salman who read the judgment for over five hours in Ilorin on Thursday stressed that these offences are punishable by death and therefore sentenced them to death by hanging.
The Offa robbery incident happened on April 5, 2018, in Offa during which the convicted armed robbers unleashed multiple gun attacks in the bank’s area and killed Thirty-Nine persons including pregnant women and police officers.
