Governor Siminialayi Fubara of Rivers State has announced the immediate suspension of Otonye Briggs, the chairman of the local government committee for Akuku-Toru.
Briggs suspension was made known in a statement issued by the governor’s chief press secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, on Tuesday, September 17.
In the press, Governor Fubara replaced Mr Briggs with Bitebobo Nelson Amieye
The governor also directed Briggs to hand over all council property in his possession to the newly appointed chairman.
This swift action underscores the governor’s commitment to maintaining leadership accountability in Rivers State.
