President Bola Admed Tinubu will in few hours send the ministerial list to the National Assembly for screening, Savannah News Gathered.
President Tinubu made this known in a telephone conversation with the Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (APC Ekiti Central) at 10:03am on Tuesday.
According to the Senate leader, he said Mr President would isolate himself for the next 48 hours to get the list compiled and forwarded to the Senate for screening.
In the conversation as revealed by the Senate leader: “Let me tell you, I need to make myself unavailable in the public space for the next 48 hours because a correspondence must come to the Senate, a very crucial correspondence being expected by the Senate and Nigerians generally.”
Bamidele at the book launch held at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre added that Tinubu who was to grace the occasion as Father of the Day, revealed on ministerial list to him while congratulating him ahead of the event.
According to Senator Opeyemi Bamidele: “Mr President prayed for me during the telephone conversation and also told me to tell Nigerians at this event to pray for him on the need to make the right decision on Ministerial appointments within the next 24 hours so that when they hear names of the nominees, they would be happy,” he said.
Speaking at the event, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, salute the celebrant for his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu for over 30 years.
Akpabio expressed displeasure with the way some state governors behave to their predecessors in most of the states of the federation but singled out Governor Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State.
He said, “The Governor of Ekiti state is great example of what leadership should be, he has remained steadfast on improvement of legacy of his predecessor.
“As a Governor, the moment you handover power to your successor, he will turn on you, either his taste will change or attitude, there is no any governor in Nigeria that has no problem with their predecessor apart from Ekiti governor there is why we have to celebrate Senator Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele for the kind of his person.”
Also speaking at the event , former Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos, Prof. Toyin Ogundipe disclosed that Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) have no business in the convoy of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima once the Police is in the convoy.
Ogundipe said, “There is need for our leaders to reduce their number of vehicles in their convoys so that Nigerians will know that you feel their pains.
“There is nothing VIO, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) are doing in the entourage of President and Vice President once you have police in the convoy.” he said.
