President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the Federal Ministry of works under the leadership of David Umahi to step down its memos to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in order to re-examine projects that require additional funding and review.
This was made known by the Minister of Information and National Orientation Mr Mohammed Idris while briefing newsmen at the end of the FEC meeting chaired by President Tinubu.
Idris said the Federal Executive Council ordered the Minister of Works, David Umahi, to collaborate with the Minister of Budget and National Planning and the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy to streamline all projects contained in the memo for appropriate funding intervention.
He said the president also directed that all projects requiring extra funding from the memos presented at the meeting be reconsidered for further deliberation at the next council meeting.
He said the projects stepped down were inherited from previous administrations and are now being streamlined and reworked with priority to ensure their completion in installments.
