An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) took his life at his residence in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
The ugly incident happened on Monday evening.
According to a report by PRNigeria, the EFCC personnel was a member of Course 5, who was known for his diligence, and efficiency.
EFCC is investigating potential factors such as mental health issues and family challenges that may have contributed to the operative’s depression and subsequent suicide.
EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale confirmed this incident when contacted.
Mr Oyewale also confirmed that an investigation is ongoing to know the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
The Commission has not released the operative’s name pending the conclusion of the investigation.
