Governing councils of federal institutions get inauguration date

Federal tertiary institutions, including universities, polytechnics and colleges of education will witness the inauguration of their Governing Councils on July 4, 2024.

The date was announced to newsmen by Professor Aisha Maikudi, the newly appointed Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, during her acceptance speech on Monday.

Recall a total number of 560 Nigerians was recently appointed by the Tinubu’s led administration to serve on the governing councils and boards of federal tertiary institutions.

In an earlier statement, the Permanent Secretary, General Services, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Nnamdi Mbaeri, noted that the approval was given for the effective management of Nigerian tertiary institutions.

A legal luminary, Chief Wole Olanipekun, Chief Bisi Akande, Isa Yuguda, Siyan Oyeweso and other notable individuals were appointed as Chairpersons of all institutions across the country.
