The Federal High Court will commence its annual vacation on July 23rd, Savannah Newsnow Reports.
This was made known by the Chief Judge, Justice John Terhemba in a press statement issued on Tuesday
According to the statement issued, judges of the Federal High Court across the country are to proceed on their yearly vacation from July 23rd.
Dr Catherine Oby Christopher, the Assistant Director of Information of the Court in a statement issued and signed on behalf of the Chief Judge buttressed that vacation was to enable judges to rest and to prepare for the activities of the new legal year.
In the statement:“The vacation is pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019.
“It will commence from Tuesday, the 23rd day of July 2024 and terminate on Friday, the 13th day of September, 2024 .
“Formal Court sittings shall however resume on Monday, the 16th day of September, 2024,” it reads partly”.
The statement further clarified that the three premier divisions of the court in Lagos Abuja and Port-Harcourt would be functional for the litigating public to approach for matters of extreme urgency only.
