Tinubu approves inauguration of committee on new minimum wage

President Bola Tinubu has approved the inauguration of a committee that would implement the new minimum wage for workers in Nigeria.

This was revealed in a letter addressed to the Nigeria Labor Congress by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

According to the letter titled “Inauguration of the tripartite committee on National Minimum wage” dated January 23, the SGF said the inauguration will take place at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, State House, Abuja at 12.00noon prompt.

“I write to inform you that Mr. President has approved the inauguration of the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage.

“Members are to be seated by 11.30am. Kindly note that a shuttle bus will be available at the pilot gate to convey members to the venue from 10.00 am.

“In light of the above, you may wish to contact the Secretariat of the Committee in the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission for any enquiries.

“Please accept as always, the assurances of my warm regards.”
