Savannah News Boss, Olujimi Adekanle has warned those behind campaign of calumny against the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Princess Catharine Oladunni Odu to desist from doing so.
Adekanle, Ikale born philanthropist warned Deputy Governor supporters and others to stop insulting Mrs Oladunni Odu for doing her job diligently.
Princess Odu, a legal practitioner, has served in many capacities at both the State and Federal levels. She was Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission and at different times, former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Education respectively.
Adekanle while commending her hard work, honesty and loyalty to the system, said there is nothing like 99.9percent loyalty. Loyalty must be 100percent and you must strive to be honest to your Boss.
He urged the people especially the Deputy Governor’s supporters to respect the SSG whose responsibility is to attend to issues on behalf of her principal.
Adekanle in his statement: “My attention has been drawn to the news making the rounds that Princess Oladunni Odu knelt down for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the just concluded peace meeting at the presidential villa pleading on behalf of her principal for smooth transition of power to the Deputy Governor.
“For those of you that have been following Mrs Odu, will know that this is not new about her respect for men in position of authority.
“In Ikaleland, òmabirèn sees men in authority no matter their age as the head and absolute respect is given to them which includes kneeling down to greet or to talk to men in power.
“Princess Odu that I know always knelt down to greet and address the Late Olusegun Agagu during his life time and so many others. Kneeling down to greet in Ikaleland is part of our cultural ethos that symbolized a well trained and cultural woman that imbibed the training of her parents.
“I don’t have a preferred candidate for the now as far as Ondo State election is concerned but as a well trained Ikale man, I will not allow anyone whether in government or not to ridicule our shining star in Ikale for whatever reason”.
Adekanle hailed the people of Ondo State for their resilient during the difficult times.
“Congratulations to the people of Ondo State that the vacuum of leadership in the state has been laid to rest as Deputy Governor steps into office as the Acting Governor of the state”.
Odu is the first female to be appointed as secretary to the Ondo State Government by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
