Dickson Akor, has applauded the House of Representatives for passing establishment bill of the corps again.
Akor, is the National Commandant of the Nigeria Peace Corps.
House of Representatives had on Thursday passed the bill for the third time.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the passage, Commandant said the functions being given to the Nigerian Peace Corps, it would add value to the security architecture in the country.
In his words: “This is the third time running that the House of Representatives is passing the bill. It shows that there is merit, there is justification in what is before the National Assembly, as being capable of addressing the socio-economic challenges confronting Nigerian youths.
“We remain eternally grateful to the House of Representatives for the expeditious manner they handled the bill under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas. We are grateful to his leadership and the entire members of the National Assembly.”
Hon. Julius Ihonvbere, the House Majority Leader, stressed that the corps would encourage volunteerism and get numerous Nigerians out of the street.
