The Nigeria Labour Congress leadership has opened up on the declaration of indefinite strike for it’s members.
According to the union spokesperson, Benjamin Upah, said the union has not declared an indefinite strike.
Benjamin Upah, while speaking with TVC news on Friday night in an interview via telephone described the purported announcement as untrue and not in anywhere represent the true position of the union.
With the expiration of its 21-working day timeline to the federal government, Nigerians await NLC’s next line of action.
The union spokesman confirmed NLC had yet to release any official statement after the expiration of its timeline to the Federal Government.
Benjamin expressed confidence that the NLC will not disappoint the its members and indeed all workers in negotiating for better conditions of living.
He assured Nigerians that an official statement on what to expect from the union would be made available in the shortest possible time.
He further urged all workers to be patient while negotiations are ongoing in the interest of all.
