How Police Arrested Senator Adeola Aide killers in Lagos – Force

Lagos Police Commnad has reviewed the criscumstances surrounding the murder of the personal aide to Sen. Olamilekan Yaayi.

Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has applauded the officer for the arrest of the murderers.

Recall Savannah News reported that, Adeniyi Sanni, was robbed and killed on Saturday, August 5, 2023, on his way home in Lagos, Nigeria.

In a statement released by Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District on August 7, Senator Adeola yayi had alleged that his aide was robbed and killed by soldiers operating checkpoints around the Ikeja axis of Lagos state.

Commissioner of Police in charge of Lagos state, CP Idowu Owohunwa, disclosed on Monday that the lawmaker’s aide was killed by ‘fake security’ agents at a checkpoint in Ojodu Berger, on his way to his home in Isheri, Lagos.

Addresing newsmen, the police spokesperson said three suspects were arrested: Fred Azeez Okuno, Lucky Idudu Michael, and Adedigba Segun over the robbery and murder of Sanni

One brand new pistol with three live ammunition, one Beretta pistol with three live ammunition, and one locally made pistol with six live cartridges retrieved from the suspects.

In his words:“Through painstaking intelligence and investigative activities which brought out the best in the capacity of Lagos Police Command, we have succeeded in arresting the syndicate of the robbery and murder.

“The three suspects directly involved in the robbery and murder were arrested with three firearms including the killer’s weapon were recovered,” the CP stated.

Commending the officers, Force PPRO, Adejobi said: “Kudos to the lagos state police command for putting its resources together and painstakingly arrested the suspected armed robbers who killed the personal aide to Sen Olamilekan Yaayi in lagos recenthy.”

“When the incident occurred, there were many speculations, but now the police investigation has proven many speculations wrong as the men arrested are regular ex-convicts who have been to prisons severally, and robbed and incidentally killed him.

“They have confessed to the crime and many alike. They usually dress in military uniform to deceive their targets, stop the targets, and rob them.”

The spokesperson added, “We sympathise with the family of our late brother, Sanni Adeniyi. We will continue to discharge our duties as expected of us and do justice to all cases. Nigeria must be better.”
