The APC Vanguard for Tinubu Re-election in Ondo State has petitioned the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of actions it claims are deepening divisions within the party and endangering President Bola Tinubu’s re-election prospects in 2027.
In the petition addressed to the APC National Chairman and signed by its General Secretary, Ajanaku Oluwaduyilemi Joshua, the group urged the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) to intervene urgently to prevent what it described as a worsening political crisis in the Ondo State chapter of the APC.
According to the group, recent developments under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership have allegedly created discontent among party members and stakeholders, resulting in growing concerns over the unity and stability of the ruling party in the state.
The petition warned that continued internal discord could weaken the APC’s grassroots support base and undermine efforts to secure widespread backing for President Tinubu’s re-election campaign during the 2027 general elections.
The group called on the party’s national leadership to investigate the allegations and take immediate steps to restore peace, inclusiveness, and cohesion within the Ondo APC.
It further argued that Ondo State remains a strategic stronghold for the APC and that preserving unity among members is essential to maintaining the party’s electoral dominance in future contests.
While reaffirming its loyalty to President Tinubu and the APC, the group appealed to party leaders to act swiftly in order to avert further divisions and strengthen the party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
As of the time of this report, Governor Aiyedatiwa and the Ondo State APC had not issued any official response to the allegations contained in the petition.
However, the development is expected to generate discussions within the party as stakeholders continue preparations for the 2027 elections.
