The Lagos State Police Command has detained two men accused of defiling their daughters in separate incidents in Surulere and Amukoko.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the command, confirmed the detention on Monday at the command headquarters in Ikeja, stating that a 39-year-old man had defiled his two daughters, aged 12 and 14, in Surulere.
Hundeyin said that the man’s wife reported the case to the police.
“A case of defilement was reported on April 30 in which the complainant reported on behalf of her two daughters against her husband.
“She alleged that her husband defiled their two daughters,” he said.
The spokesperson said that the report led to the apprehension of the woman’s husband.
The image maker obtained a medical report from a sexual assault referral centre, and the police arrested a 48-year-old man for allegedly defiling his 16-year-old daughter in Amukoko.
“On April 29, at 9.30 p.m., detectives of the command received a report from a complainant who reported that her husband had carnal knowledge of his physically-challenged daughter on several occasions.
He stated that the suspect was caught engaging in sexual activity with the minor on the same day at 8:30 p.m.
Hundeyin explained that a team of detectives visited the scene of the alleged crime and apprehended the suspect.
He added that the survivor was taken to the General Hospital in Ajeromi for examination and treatment. According to him, the investigation is ongoing.
